This summer, seven BB 36000 locomotives will make an interesting career change. BB 36001-36006 and 36008 will be transferred from France to Morocco. Akiem will hire them to OCP, Office Chérifien des Phosphates, which will use them to haul their 4800 t phosphate trains. The national railway company ONCF will operate the trains.

The engines will get a new pantograph tuned to the Moroccan catenary, and some other minor adjustments will be done, before they will start their south bound journey. - Akiem
