Today, the very last RailJet composition was delivered to the Austrian railways (ÖBB). It got a name:
RailJet fifty-one. And that is what it is, the 51st RailJet train. The ÖBB also repainted (and partly refitted) 51 locomotives: 1116 201-251. Only 1116 250 kept its livery, as it is a promotional one for the Austrian police.
Although the RailJet trains are not in service for such a long time yet, their general concept already needed a revision. Spaces for bikes are now being prepared, and the ÖBB discovered the bistro was just not good enough. The RailJet gets a fully fledged restaurant now.
Also, the ÖBB decided to cancel the order for the remaining sixteen RailJet rakes (once 67 compositions were planned). Siemens now tries to negotiate with the Czech railways for selling some of these remaining sets.
