Prima II - EL2U ONCF [MA] railoperator E 1400 series 20 - 2009-2010 profile

On 20.05.2008, Alstom launched its plans for a new, global locomotive platform; Prima II. That day a scale model was revealed of a 4-axle version for the European freight market. More than a year later, on 03.06.2009, the first 1:1 scale protoype was outstopped and presented; Prima II-1.

In May 2008 Alstom already made public that they already had a first customer for the Prima II, right from the drawing board; the national railways of Morocco (ONCF). They placed an order for twenty such electrics for mixed services.
