In April 2008 the German company mgw, expert in service, maintanance of modern electrics, announced the order for a ES 64 U4 platform locomotive, certified for Germany, Austria and Slovenia. The blue painted machine, designated 183 500 is stand-in for units operated by mgw customers that are temporarily out of service for service or repairs. mgw already hired 185 545 and 555 for the same purpose before. On October 1st, the 183 500 was delivered.

Today, the brand new blue ES 64 U4 unit for MGW services travelled from Linz, were it was assembled, to Munich. A picture.

At this moment, in the workshops of Linz, the 61st and 62nd ES64U4 locomotive are under assembly for new Siemens' customers.
Number 61 is painted blue with a dark grey frame, to be delivered to MGW services. MGW has one such machine on order.
LogServ has ordered two ES64U4s for its subsidiary CargoServ, of which the first one is also painted and ready for its final assembly. Locomotive number 62 is painted in the exact same way as the machines CargoServ is currently hiring from MRCE-Dispolok.
 Next to these new locomotives, also 1216 025 could be seen in Linz. A picture was made.

On its website, mgwservice.de, the German company mgw offers a new product to its customers: Siemens ES64U4 locomotives homologated for Germany, Austria and Slovenia. it should be available next October, so we can expext that the OBB workshops of Linz will deliver one or more blue painted 1216s to MGW after the summer. - mgwservice.de
