 In October 2008, mgw Services ordered its second electric locomotive, being a Traxx AC2 machine. Unlike the first one, Siemens 21315 - mgw 183 500 that is only homolgated for Germany and Austria, this unit had to serve mgw customers in Sweden and Norway.
 The blue painted locomotive was built during the summer of 2009 and was first spotted outside that factory in August 2009. During the following months the unit visited Siemens test-center in Wegberg-Wildenrath. On 25.11.2009 it was delivered to mgw and on 29.11.2009 the 185 642 designated machine arrived in Hallsberg, Sweden, where it is stationed since then. First operator to hire the 642 was the Swedish department of TX Logistik.

Very smart of mgw to buy a Traxx F140 AC2 locomotive approved for both Germany/Austria and Sweden/Norway. It has now transferred from Germany to Sweden (again). Hector Rail is the current lessor. - NO/DM

Around the summer, mgw 185 642 derailed on a switch in the Örnsöldsvik area. Being damaged it was parked Vännäs for 2-3 months. On 24.08.2011, it left Sweden by truck heading for Germany . In the past months the 642 was in Kassel, were it was repaired. Today It hauled a freight train from Germany to Gramatneusiedl and back. - HP/BD

A foggy shot of mgw 185 642 after its arrival in Hallsberg, Sweden. There this unit will be stationed, available to Scandinavian operators that need an extra locomotive or as replacement of one of their own Traxx units while it is in maintenance. For now, TX Logistik will be the first customer for mgw.
185 642 has the same country specific package as the CargoNet Traxx units: Sweden-Norway combined with Germany-Austria. It was officially handed over to mgw on 25.11.2009 - NO/KAR

 Today, an all blue painted Traxx Ac2 left the Bombardier assembly factory in Kassel for its maiden trip. mgw service ordered this unit back in October 2008. The machine will be homologated for services in Germany, Austria, Norway and Sweden, like the ATC/CargoNet EL19 electrics. - MV/Bombardier

In several media is mentioned that Bombardier will delivered one Traxx F140 AC2 (185.2) unit to mgw Services next year. It will be the second machine for this company, next to the recently delivered 183 500 from Siemens. - EK/spz.logout.cz
