Akiem 185.2
in short
order details
In 2007 Veolia Transport ordered nine Traxx units, with an option for twelve more. Of those nine units, three are configurated as AC2 machines, to be used in Germany and Austria. In Decmber 2008, 185 598 was the first to make a public appearance. After ist maiden run the machine was stored around Kassel for almost a year. In October 2009 it was finally delivered to Veolia Cargo SAS in Nanterre. During that same month, unit 2 and 3 were completed, designated as 185 649 and 650. They were delivered to Veolia in November 2009.

At the end of 2009, Veolia sold its Cargo activities to SNCF and EuroTunnel. Veolia Cargo SAS was now property of SNCF and was renamed VC Holding. VC Holding was integrated in Akiem leasing per 01.01.2012. The three Traxx F140AC2 locomotives are primarily used by ITL from Dresden, the German operator also part of the SNCF concern.

[FR/DE] the Akiem fleet, a complete overview (edit)
In the mean time, we were able to get a clear overview over the Akiem fleet.

From Fret SNCF, Akiem has now BB 27111-27180 (70 units) in its portfolio, together with BB 37001-37060, minus the crashed and scrapped 37007 (59 units).

Then, Akiem is managing several series from the former Veolia Vargo fleet. Officially they are all property of the VC Holding from Clichy. First there are nine Prima locomotives: 37506, 507, 511, 513, 515, 524, 529, 530, 531. In total Akiem has 68 triple voltage Prima's to its disposal. The other six units that were property of Veolia Cargo, eg 37501, 502, 503, 504, 505, and 509, were sold to Europorte.

Also, Akiem manages six Traxx units, property of VC Holding: 185 598, 649 and 650, and the multi system 186 184, 185 and 186. Two of these units were seen in Hennigsdorf recently. - RV/Akiem

edit: of course the Akiem fleet also includes diesel engines, but those are not represented on this website.

[DE] Veolia 185 598 in revenue service
We had to wait for almost a year, but now Veolia Cargo (or should we say SNCF Fret or E2?) has accepted its first Traxx AC2 electric. Since this week, Veolia 185 598-0 is used for revenue services. Two more similar units are still to come.

[FR] About AKIEM
SNCF has founded a new subsidiary for locomotive leasing; Akiem. The company was present on the Transport Messe in Munich last week. SNCF locomotives which are currently underutilised will be available for lease. One can think of modern Prima electrics and diesel-electrics, but also a part of the fleet of 80 Traxx locomotives which will be delivered by Bombardier from 2010. In the beginning, 233 locomotives worth EUR 430 Million will be transferred. Their number will increase to 400 by 2013. - SNCF
