[DE] History: building the AEG 12X locomotive

Sometimes we get very special images. Things that everyone still can remember, but that are already part of history. An example is the construction of locomotives in Hennigsdorf, a factory of AEG back in 1994. The images show the construction of AEG experimental locomotive 12X. It is one of the machines that started the development of all the modern electrics on this website.
Nowadays, the machines is not in use anymore, but it is back at its birth ground since 2010. - DGB

[DE] eye for an eye with 12X
Yesterday, we finally got the chance to take a close look on one of the ancestors of the modern electrics on this website, the AEG 12X or 128 001. Nowadays, it´s property of Bombardier Transportation and specially for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Bombardier´s competence center in Berlin-Hennigsdorf, the 12X was transported from Zurich to Berlin. As far as we know, the engine can not run by itself anymore (or at least is not allowed to). The unit has been parked in Zürich for years, as can be seen on Google Earth.
