This section gives a brief overview of the whereabouts of all Traxx MS locomotives that are property of French leasing company Akiem. Akiem is part of the SNCF-Geodis group. There were two different orders, and the locomotives were delivered in two different configurations (DE/BE/FR and DE/AT/PL).
First batch (186 184-186)
The first three Akiem Traxx MS locomotives were originally built for Veolia Transport, but this company ceased to exist after it was sold to the SNCF/Geodis Group. After an extensive restructuring of the former Veolia Cargo-companies, these three units were delivered to VC Holding in Clichy [FR] in 2010. Akiem, the leasing company of the SNCF/Geodis Group managed the fleet of VC Holding at that time, so also these three Traxx units. Now they are part of the Akiem leasing fleet and are all configured for services in France, Belgium and Germany. 186 185 was the first being used for revenue services. It was hired to another member of the SNCF family: ITL Deutschland. First runs started in February 2011.
Second batch (186 188-191 and 261-267)
In March 2013 it became clear that Akiem would get more Traxx MS locomotives. 11 units were ordered as part of an order for fifteen machines, also including four Traxx AC3 locomotives with Last Mile option. The delivery of the 11 new machines batch started in May 2014. The 186 1xx locomotives were configured for France, Belgium and Germany. The 186 2xx designated machines had the Germany, Austria and Poland-package.
