[HU/RO] MAV 480 005 and the Csíksomlyó express 2013
Every year, a special MAV train goes to Şumuleu Ciuc (or Csíksomlyó). It is part of a Catholic pilgrimage to this little town in Romania. They go there every year to commemorate a victory of the Catholics over the Protestants dating back to 1567, a happening believed to be a sign of Vrigin Mary. Nowadays it is also an event for Hungarian people living in and outside the historical region of Transylvania to demonstrating their spiritual unity. Hence the many Hungarian flags. - wikipedia/PP
This year, MAV locomotive 480 005 hauled the special pelgrimage train. The Hungarian railways always try to arrange a special locomotive for traction. In 2012, MAV 470 010 was used. In 2011 the Franz Liszt locomotive, GySEV 1047 503.
Not many machines will get so much attention as the Csíksomlyó express locomotive.
